(RUFORUM), established in 2004, is a consortium of 42 universities in 19 countries of Eastern, Central and Southern Africa (ECSA). The organisation evolved from the Forum on Agricultural Resource Husbandry (FORUM) program of the Rockefeller Foundation.
The Field Attachment Program Award (FAPA) is a competitive grants program designed as graduate student internship to link thesis research findings and recommendations to application and use at community level.

The International Treaty launches the Third Call for Project Proposals

 

The International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture launched its third call for project proposals under its Benefit-Sharing Fund (BSF).
With over USD 10 million available for supporting new projects aimed at the conservation and sustainable use of
plant genetic material in developing countries, this is the largest call to date.

Eligible applicants include governmental and non-governmental organizations – including farmers and farmers’
organizations, genebanks and research institutions, as well as regional and international organizations – based in countries that are Contracting Parties to the International Treaty.

Applicants have until 05 May 2014 to submit their pre-proposals via official channels.

2014 Call for applications: IFS Individual Research Grants

Another opportunity for early-career scientists in IFS eligible developing countries to apply for Individual Research Grants and carry out research projects for a period of up to 3 years. An applicant must have at least an MSc/MA, be younger than 35 years of age (for men) or 40 years of age (for women) and must do the research project in an IFS eligible country.
